Abstract

Review dedicated to Lucian Boia's 2020 published book,  Scurtă istorie a dezastrelor naturale. Epidemii, cutremure și dereglări climatice, București, Humanitas. 

A personal perspective into the interdisciplinary work of historian Lucian Boia,  dedicated to natural disasters and how these calamities influenced the evolution of communities through the human history.  Guided more or less by the context of pandemic present in today's society,  Boia proposes an actualization of  his  study which was originally published in 1985. He pleads for a better understanding of the dangerous role of human beings in the natural climate destruction process, mostly accelerated by tehnology and raises other delicate ecology issues.
