Education in the 21st century is increasingly in demand to be personalized, flexible and available anywhere, anytime, and technology can play a key role in achieving these goals. However, in order to be effective, we need to understand how and where learning is best mediated by technology - through what technologies and in what contexts. Educators around the world, policy makers, and others are looking for best practices to prepare teachers to improve student learning, prepare students for their future, maintain current knowledge and skills of educators, increase student engagement, and integrate learning technologies in their curriculum. The aim of this paper is to share the knowledge gained from the experience of using technology in historical education and to generate a discussion in our educational community about the problems of future research, to learn from each other and to identify opportunities for collaboration.
